You also need a specialised high-protein diet to gain weight. That means you need to eat lots of meat, eggs, soya, and other related foodstuffs. In addition, since you are working out, you need lots of calories to provide the energy requirements for your weight training. Eating grains, whole wheat bread, rice, and cereals provides you with the carbohydrates needed for energy and protein synthesis. For maximum effect, you need to split your daily food intake into 5 to 7 meals of equal nutritional content. Doing so also reduces overindulging in food.
